Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!
It is an honor to have been given the opportunity to serve our community as the principal of Washington Elementary. Over the past years I have developed a strong relationship with the community, students, and staff and I feel very fortunate to work with such great parents, children, and community members. Our top priorities will always be our children’s safety and providing them with quality educational opportunities. Please know that your students will be continually challenged and will be well prepared for whatever comes their way in the future. The goal at Washington Elementary is that “All students will exit Washington Elementary reading and writing fluently.” Our mission is to create a safe and successful learning environment through a collaborative effort of students, teachers, parents, and community members to maximize students’ full potential; and to enable them to reach their highest academic, social, and moral development. Our intent is to create life-long learners and produce contributing citizens in society. Through the hard work and dedication of our leadership team, teachers, and support staff, we will continue to work together as a community of learners to ensure the success of our children. Our vision is to engage and support all students and all stakeholders that are involved in the learning process so that every venue is researched, explored and attempted in our quest to reach our vision that all students be on grade level. We will do this by · Promoting parent involvement. · Providing support for at-risk students. · Differentiating instruction. · Integration of technology. · Developing character through the six pillars and establishing behavioral expectations through the Aztec Way (Respectful, Responsible, Safe). · Open communication amongst all stakeholders.
It is with my sincerest gratitude that I serve as Washington Elementary’s principal. As principal, it is my promise to always put your children first and to make sure they will be ready for the next grade level when they leave Washington Elementary. Safety and the success of our children will always be number one. I would also like parents and community members to know that my door is always open. Your involvement in your child’s education plays a major roll to their success. We are all responsible for building a solid foundation for our future scholars, leaders, and champions. Our students might be Little Aztecs, but they are Big Achievers. I look forward to a wonderful year!
